Before you buy another tester (The TV-7 series are great testers!) visit

For example, here are settings to test your 6BN8:

6.3  EV8-7090  15  -  D  3  13  (Tride section)
6.3  EV0-6030   0  70  A  2  40  (Diode 1)
6.3  EV0-1020   0  70  A  2  40  (Diode 2)
