If you have a tube manual, you can generally figure out what the settings 
for the tester will be by finding two tubes that are similar, then 
interpolating (or maybe extrapolating) the settings. The biggest issue is 
making sure you correct for any differences in the pinout. Plus, you sorta 
have to reverse-engineer what the tester is doing. You need one known-good 
tube for comparison.
