Electric Radio ran some articles recently dealing with the BC-610 in general
and the use of a VFO specifically. It involved some mods to the tuning
units and how to feed in the VFO in place of the crystal. Apparently there
is enough gain to use a signal generator as a VFO. I'll dig around to see
if I have them available.

This is the site containing an index of ER magazine articles that might help
you find the info:

I have been told that a good tube transmiter or modern
solid state transceiver can be used as a driver for a
BC-610 and have VFO control.

If that is true, can someone furnish me with
instructions, diagrams, and general technical
information to drive my BC-610 with such a driver/VFO,
thus eliminating the need for the tuning units?

I would like to locate written information that might
have been published in some form or on the reflector
archives. Thanks for your assistance!!! 73, John,
