Hi Bob,

Please note that I stated PROPERLY INSTALLED in reference to the cord set. On 
an S-308 or similar type receiver with a metal case, I connect the ground 
wire to the cabinet. If there is a failure in the line bypass cap or the cabinet 
otherwise becomes hot, the ground line will hopefully take care of it.  Of 
course, the only really safe way to operate an AC/DC set is with an isolation 
transformer and I have built one into many of my receivers.  It is removable 
without a trace if the unit is ever sold to a pureist.
