[Boatanchors] Re-capping

Hi Bill,

When I re-capped my HRO-50 I cut the leads of the old caps to leave about a
quarter-inch of wire at the terminals, then cleaned the stub up. I took the
new caps (ex-Russian military!) and using a small drill bit as a former
wound a small coil of the new cap connecting wire parallel to the capacitor
at each end with enough wire tail to reach the stubs. I slipped the coils
over the old wire, crimped the coils gently to tighten them on the wire and
then soldered. A bit more work than is perhaps necessary but better then
trying to unsolder the old wires from the terminals, which often have become
brittle with age and break. Looks neat too!

HTH,

Roger, G3VKM
