[Boatanchors] 12 vdc to 110 vac converter question: Rolling boatanchors away!

Some of you seem to have avoided inverter noise. Any suggestions of
specific manufacturers? I'd really like something where I could listen to
80 or 160 meter AM with little or no noise - but maybe I'm asking for the
impossible. Maybe lead dress and/or bonding to the car frame is a help -
suggestions there? I have heard that Excel sine wave inverters are among
the best, but they are expensive, so don't want to take the leap without
some advice.
Thanks, Jim w6ivw
