I read your article.  Very interesting.  My '66 handbook does show 
significant differences in recommended bias and screen voltages.  But 
the only difference in interelectrode capacitances is that the g-p 
capacitance is 0.22 pf for the B as opposed to 0.24 for the 6146 and the 
A.  I would assume that such a small difference would easily be taken 
care of by readjusting the neutralization.

Looking at an A and a (Chinese) B that I happen to have, I notice that 
the leads to the tube pins are signficantly longer in the B (at least in 
this one).  That might make the tube more likely to self-oscillate at VHF.
