[Boatanchors] Selective Voltmeters

various reflectors concerning Selective Volt Meters?
I have heard they can be used for Low frequency receivers....   The two
examples I am concerned with are the HP 312 and the HP3581....   Do they
have speakers?   Is one better than the other??  Also some of the advantages
and the disadvantages of  them over regular Low Freq receivers.... I believe
they cover the frequency range of around 15 cycles to 50kc.... Please email
