Gee Larry about 2 years ago I ordered a Standby Generator from Coleman
Products which manufactures them in Nebraska, Kearney I believe. They put
it on Yellow Freight there and shipped it to Southern Oklahoma. Well two
weeks later, I inquired about it and they couldn't find it.

In two days they called back (Coleman Products) and said it was in
California. Seems as if it went from Kearney, NE to Wichita, KS to OKC
where it was put on a truck to California (according to Arnold, pronounced
Kaleee-forneeaaaaa).

Well out on the left coast they didn't know where Sulphur, OK was so they
sent it to Dallas, TX (I guess they never heard of Oklahoma City, where it
came from). Maybe they thought the Texans knew geography. Anyway the
Texans knew enough to send it to OKC where it could be put on an interline
truck for Southern OK to get here. By now Yellow Freight knows where the
generators is, Oklahoma City. Well I told the Yellow Freight person I
needed it by Monday (all this is happening on Friday), she agreed to have a
triple trailer truck drop it off on the way to (guess where?) Dallas.
Sulphur is 75 miles South of OKC. The truck would stop at the Sulphur exit
on I 35, just for little ole me (by now, this has been going on for 6
weeks)..

The good old UNION driver didn't want to do that and the guy picking it up
had to chase him 5 miles down the interstate to get him to pull over. They
finally located the generator in the front trailer and he didn't want to
uncouple the back two to get it out. After a call to Yellow headquarters,
the UNION driver relented and we got the generator off the trailer. All
this on the road side of a busy Interstate highway.

The ONLY good thing. The generator was undamaged.

Good luck on handles for the 388. I just thought you might enjoy another
story about incompetent freight companies or maybe incompetent personnel.
