For those lusting for a VLF receiver, our club has, out of an estate, a 
Sierra model 121 tunable
VTVM. It goes from about nothing khz up to about 600 khz plus a mess of 
other controls and
a meter. If anyone is interested, make a reasonable offer (plus shipping). 
It seems to work OK
(based on our nontechinical testing)(pickes up some BC stations).  Pictures
