Subject: [Boatanchors] Schematic and Alignment of Eico 378 ?
Date: Tuesday, October 26, 2004 1:05 PM

Hi,

Yesterday the TV tech where I do part time Stereo Repair gave me two test
instruments, an Eico 378 Audio Generator and a Superior Instruments Genometer
TV-50A. Both have been stored in his garage for a number of years and so need
a little TLC. The Eico 378 appears to be a "better than average" audio
generator.

Using series resistors in the B+ path I was able to "form" the 'lytics in the
378 ok and the instrument appears to be working just fine, though I had to
clean intermittent controls and switches, especially the internal feedback
pot. I'm not quite sure what the "optimum" setting for that alignment control
is??

I've been able to obtain the manual on the Genometer (Signal Generator) from
BAMA, but the two Eico audio generator manuals on BAMA (377 and 379) are
entirely different critters.

Anybody have the schematic and alignment procedures for the 378 that they
could perhaps scan and email me? I probably wouldn't need the entire manual.
