All vintage rigs are welcome -
Please join us on Sunday October 17th for the Hallicrafters Collectors
International 20 meter Net. Volunteer relay stations will be appreciated, as the
regular station in southern FL is still off the air.
The pre-Net portion will commence at 12:45 PM EDT, (1645 UTC). The Net proper
will start at 1:15 PM EDT, (1715 UTC). I will be on the air testing and blowing
the cobwebs out of the antennas beginning about 12:20 PM EDT, (1620 UTC) should
any wish to join me early.
The frequency will be 14.293 MHZ usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and some
revealing facts about what has come to be known as the dirty half dozen. Not a
yoke, just some hydrogen sulfide leaking through some cracks in their shells!
And all this time you thought that odor was from political ads, outhouses with
the tilt lamp lit or an electrolytic that smelled like boiled shrimp wearing
dirty sweat socks with a foot fungus! Wrong! What's brewing in the caldron will
be revealed on Halloween when the Moon is full, everyone is confused because
daylight time has been reversed and skeletons wander out of closets.
If you have some vintage radio gear or accessories to sell, show up tomorrow and
hawk it. If you have a need for a part, show up and ask. Chances are somebody
out there can help. If you have a tale to tell, a fact to share, a fix to
expound upon or just want to hang with some of the greatest people on the Ham
airways, be there!
I hope to hear you then.
