[Boatanchors] L&N Knife Switch

I was looking for a knife switch for my reconstructed novice station and a 
friend gave me a DPDT made by L&N.  This is not the one that I used as a 
novice, but it looks interesting.  Does anyone recognize it or know what 
it's original use was?
