[Boatanchors] Amplifier input tuning circuit question

Hi:

Has anyone used torroid cores for the input tuning network with homebrew linears?
I would like to hear from you about the circuit performance.  I'm thinking of working up my 4x811A amplifier using the torroids as part of the input tuning networks instead of the traditional coil on form type.  Looking for comments on useability, bandwidth and any engineering info you would like to share.
