Good day Gentlemen,
I have read the attendant traffic with regard to the "purchase of the radio" that is presently on the traffic list of this reflector with considerable interest.
We were taken for five thousand pounds Sterling by entering into such a transaction with a purchaser who we thought was quite genuine and who turned out after Governmental enquiries to be a complete fake and who was acquiring equipment for a covert terrorist operation in West Africa.
I cannot counsel enough caution in these matters and it can be very costly.
Additionally, the chances of you seeing any finance are very remote and it will cost you a lot to find out that you have been taken for a ride.
One quick first level check is to go through the United States Government publication "List of prohibited persons" this will give you a first level check as to the validity of the person/organisation you might be dealing with. That is not to say that all possible transactions are suspect, the vast majority of them are completely honest but the "odd one" is the one that will hit your wallet.!
All good wishes,
Clive GW3WEQ
