[Boatanchors] viruses

The problem is NOT with my machine! I DO have virus
protection (very good programs), firewall, etc. What
happens is that someone else's machine has my E-Mail
address in their contact list and a virus is on their
machine.
If it were on my machine, it is very unlikely that my
E-Mail address were spoofed. These virus programs are
"smart enough" to keep from using the E-Mail address
of the machine on which they are operating.
However, the first thing that I do when I am informed
that my E-Mail address is being "spoofed", I update
then definitely run my virus protection programs (I
have several) just to make sure that I do not have a
virus.
Also, I do not open any E-Mail with attachments unless
I know that an attachment is coming. In addition, I
do not open any that have a file size around 43K.
This seems to be the size of many of the virus
programs.
Thus, the people who's E-Mail address is being
"spoofed" are very unlikely to have the virus on their
machine. Unfortunately, that leaves the 99.99% of the
other people who just might have the virus!

Someone, as Keith correctly stated, penetrated your
machine due to inadequate firewall protection and
planted what they wanted. That is probably why William
Howard and Glen both have it due to Russian hackers.
