Yes it does, but some guys don't like the fact that it will drift as
it warms up.
But rather than SS'ing the VFO complete, you'd be FAR further ahead doing
two things.
First is to leave the heater to the VFO tube on al the time (gotta add an
extra transformer
for the heater circuit to the VFO tube) and the second is to put a SS
voltage regulator circuit
in the VFO supply so it doesn't change and cause instability in the
oscillator circuit. You fix all that
stuff when you do the SS conversion, but this is less work.
