Ray - I got my start about 1951 and thanks to Andy and the Dade Radio Club.
I remember the rig that was brought to a meeting for show and tell. Also
there was
another which had 2E26 final and pair of 6AQ5 modulators which I built and
used on 10 meters. I used to drive my '47 Chevy Coupe over to Key Biscayne,
throw a chain out on the beach for a ground and work ZS6s like locals at
night. Andy was also active in the
Flamingo Net and many of us provided comms for the
Sheriff's speed patrols, especially on the Tammiami Trail
from Miami to Naples (then a true one horse town).
Thanks for the memories!!! Brgds, Geo, N7HR, ex
