Larry -
Recall that the early AC-3 supply was designed for the TR-3. There
was no provision on these AC-3s for controlling an external linear.
The transceiver was first believed to be for mobile use and not
many used linear amps. (Although a few did!)
The early "3" version had a small pigtail with RCA jack that came
out the back of the Jones connector, apparently after Drake had
inquiries about keying an external amp. On later units, this
pigtail was used for ALC control. Some units had two pigtails, and
I suspect those were "field modifications".
