I have an original in my archives of the manual shipped with the NC-80A and 
NC-81X.  If no one turns up an original for sale, I'll see what I would have to 
get for a copy.  Won't be much, but then probably neither will an original if 
someone has one.  

In the meantime, the "line - on/control" is the AC line switch (OFF is fully 
CCW) ganged with the RF gain control.  The other one opens the B+ supply 
(standby) when fully CCW and is ganged with the AF gain control.
