[Boatanchors] (de) soldering question

Hi Jim, et al,
The Hakko 470B was recommended to me a few months ago by a happy user,
and I found one used on the auction place for about $150. I looked at the
other models, the 808 didn't appeal to me because it seemed rather large
and unwieldy. The 470 has a separate pump/power unit, the "business end"
head is connected to the power unit by a vacuum tube and a small power
cable. It's a bit more $, but I have been very satisfied. The only
little nuisance I've had is the need to clean the tip fairly often. I'm
using the smallest dia. tip, that's probably the main reason for that.
It's made the SP-600 re-cap jobs lots easier, probably saved me a
cupla hours on the last one.
