[Boatanchors] GE Super Radio

I know this is off topic to any of them but I am looking to poll the 
collective wisdom. The GE Super Radio has been around for a long time 
and is legendary for its ability to pull in distant AM stations. Are 
there any appreciable differences in the various versions of this 
radio?? Do the older versions do a better job of pulling in stations or 
are the newer versions better?? Other than sentiment is there a reason 
to buy an older version compared to a newer version? Thanks
