[Boatanchors] HQ-170A with clock

I'm almost afraid to mention it but I have a 170 without clock that was
converted to all solid-state (ducking). First of all, lets be clear
here, I did not do it! One of the local AM boys, name withheld, had
listed it for sale in a local classified ad weekly rag. He said it needed
a bit of work. I saw it and gave it a new Well it works fine and came
with all of the hand written documentation of the conversion done over a
few years. It's mainly a SSB rx now with all sorts of filter mods. I
thought it might end up as a donor cabinet for another radio but it is kind
of a neat documented trip into "The Solid-state Zone". Perhaps I can find
a digital clock that will fit in the analog clock hole.

Now that I have made this confession I'm almost afraid to go to Hosstraders
this weekend.

Alex,

I'm not afraid of doing an alignment at all.

I prefer to check it out first, and determine the need before diving
in.

It certainly isn't my primary receiver. It is one of those that I
use infrequently.

By the time I can get to it, I MAY just go ahead and rock and roll.
It will depend on mood, time, and interest.

The first project to finish is the restoration of a '51 Collins
R-390A. My next step in that one is the RF Deck and gear train.
