I just looked at the coil that I had repaired. I had forgotten exactly
what I had done.
The plastic that supported the coil was bad and it would flop around. I
had used some 1/8 inch lexan by about 1/2 inch wide and epoxied it
inside the coil along the plastic strips that were there originally. I
left the old plastic in place the separated the coil turns. Some of it
was in bad shape but after the epoxy and the new pieces it is rock solid.
