Well, Bill Halligan holds the patent on LO and VFO drift and AFAIK
Halli never sued anyone for patent infringement :)
Halli didn't get their arms around the problem until very late
in the game, perhaps SX-101Mk?? or later...
SR-150 drift isn't the VFO. It's the HFO. For some strange reason,
Halli didn't put the HFO on 150V Reg. As a result, the xtals drifted
with B+. Putting it in 150V Reg fixes the problem. Quite stable...
Halli finally got wise and regulated all the later xcvr HFOs.
