Hello fellow BA'ers:
Having recently retired, I now have some time to work on some of these =
goodies acquired over the past few years. I am not a whiz-bang =
technician, but would like to be able to do some receiver and =
transmitter alignment without going through the hassle of first having =
to trouble-shoot my test equipment, resulting in a low confidence level =
in the test equipment. My meager test bench now consists of a BC-221-T =
(un-used for a number of years), a Gen Rad 1001-A signal generator =
(works fair but no modulation, poor attenuation, leakage, big and =
cumbersome), optoelectronics K7000 freq. counter (works, but maybe =
something a bit better), Heath Kit V6 VTVM, Simpson 270 VOM, Radio Shack =
DMM, Heath Kit green eye condenser checker (meters & checker work ok). =
Also the sig. gen. & BC-221-T take up a lot of room. I think maybe if I =
could upgrade the rf signal generator and maybe the counter, the rest of =
the equip. would be ok.=20
So I guess what I'm asking is what do you guys recommend as far as the =
sig. generator and counter is concerned. Any other suggestions would be =
appreciated....thanks...de Bill K4JYS
