[Boatanchors] Win XP Registry Help...????!!!!

Hi.. I know this isn't the best way to go about this, but I need some
help....
I had a registry glitch on the work computer, and now I can't boot from
the drive....
It comes up everytime saying " Fatal Error, Setup could not update the
registry and will now shut down"....

I wasn't even loading software....I've tried all the usual fixes, Safe
Mode boot,System restore, System rebuild, Scan disk, etc.... but no
luck....
My guess is that one of the registry files got corrupted...I have a
second HD installed in the system now, but all my Imaging software,
pictures,Radio S/W, etc are all on the drive I can't boot from, and a
rebuild would take the better part of a week....
