I would appreciate any experience shipper to comment on this as a workable
solution, as I have not used it.

The different foam in bag sizes range from ~$3 to ~$5 each for the largest.
They suggest a warmer to help with activation, but I would plan to use a
heating pad for one or two at a time. I don't have a source yet, but there
are distributors around.
For those that traffic in high dollar shipments a group purchase might be
reasonable.
