Hi.
Thanks to all who answered my question concerning the meaning of QRA (which
means "What is your Name/Call").

It appears that the mystery is solved. I sat here and copied some of the
stations exchange. FIRST. The station sending CQ is/was K6KPH which is the
callsign of "Maritime Radio Historical Society, Richard D Dillman, 435 Utah
St 4, San Francisco". This club runs many special events, BOTH on the
amateur bands as K6KPH AND also runs the Historical Maritime Station KPH,
using their original transmitters and various Maritime frequencies such as
426 and 500 KHz, which are often heard here... This must be one of those
special events. Many (all?) of the clubs ops are past Maritime operators of
KPH.

It appears they use some maritime "lingo" in their QSO <grin>.

73 from the "Beaconeers Lair".
