RACES Director, I can tell you that this is very true. I'm actually very 
surprised and delighted by the extent which they want us involved. We 
are an intergral part of the Homeland Security plan and take part in 
many aspects other than simply radio(like planning). Talk about giving 
something back. We work together with state and federal government 
agencies within their plans and have a communications system interwoven 
with the MARS system. Right now we're in the process of building a 
communications vehicle for remote site/field use all the while ramping 
up the with HS. The things I could (but won't!) tell you.

You can believe this much, though - there are some very amazing things 
out there. Technology as well as actual events. And there is SO much 
more to the story than you will EVER see or hear from the liberal 
'network' media outlets.

Be prepared, be aware, and be informed.
