Jerry et al:
I asked about the 21.285 frequency on the AMI web site. No one gave me an
answer as to why that frequency is listed.
Paul WA3VJB, a well known AM'er and member of AMI, said he was planning on
using 21.425 as that is the frequency used by quite a lot of the English (G)
AM'ers.
I'm still hesitant about the 21.285 frequency as that is in the Advanced
portion of the band, and would exclude those with a General class license.
I don't think it really matters if we "use" .390 or .425 etc; using either
as a calling frequency is fine, but we don't want to get into the rut of
another "AM Window" like exists on 75 meters.
I'm "cc" this email to Paul 'VJB; perhaps he can opine on this situation.
