Hi Bob,
    Well, he's one of many who have had pwr xfmrs go out from an HT-32
or -37.  A used one should be treated with caution.  If he goes with a used
one, he should put SS diodes in there to reduce heat in the xfmr.  Using a
Heath HP-23 supply outboard on an umbilical cord is a good alternative.
I've done that, it's pretty easy.  I've got some info on that & the SS
diodes on my website, go to the HT-37 pg.  I've got marked up skems
somewhere showing the changes for the HP-23 installation, can make cc if
wanted.
