[Boatanchors] Grebe Radio

Hi George:

When individually adjusting the TRF capacitors, be sure to first loosen the
knurled locknuts at the top of the adjustment knobs (inside the cabinet).
After selecting the desired station's frequency (no mean trick if it's a
weak station), you then hand-tighten the nuts and the three capacitors will
then reasonably track across the tuning range.

BTW, I have two such sets in my collection. One has the chain, and the other
does not! I can send JPEGs to anyone interested in the differences.

To all who responded,

Thanks for the information. I offered him $175.00 instead of the 30L-1 and
he took it.

The radio has the chain drives on top but the chains won't turn the outside
controls, it just slips. Also, the verniers at the bottom don't work well
either. When I take it apart to refinish the case, I'll take care of that.

Thanks again.
