Also, there is a screw on the top of the middle
control and screws with knurled knobs on top of the
two outside controls.  If these are even a little
loose, the chain will slip.

When tuning, since what you have is actually the MU-2
model (although most of the MU-2 still had MU-1 on
them - difference is primarily the chain) the three
controls will move together.  But, the vernier on each
control will still operate separately allowing you to
"fine tune" the station.

What I also like about the receiver is the spring
mounting of the tube sockets which helps with
microphonics (a lot of the 01A series tubes - 101A,
201A, 301A, etc.) are very microphonic.

As I said in a previous message I have had one for
going on 30 years as part of my collection.  They are
about "average" in terms of performance of the TRF
receivers of that era.
