Once upon a time I wanted to color match a gray Halli exciter. Took a
piece to the local ACE Hardware store and the lady was able to color match
it exactly. She then directed my attention to an inexpensive little paint
spray bottle that was powered by a CO2 cartridge. I over-sprayed about
a quarter of the Halli chassis area and it's nearly impossible to detect
a difference between the old and the new paint. I used a semi-gloss water
based latex which in my experience gives a more even and consistent result
than does the spray cans.

Before applying the paint, I gave the target area an undercoat of one of
the rust eater products that converts rust into a paintable surface.
As I recall, the cost for a pint of custom mixed paint and the sprayer
was on the order of $15.
