Hi Boomer,
I'm already on the Racal list, I was going to post there next. Most of
the discussion there is on the "new" radios (computers which happen to have
radios in them hi hi) But I'm sure I can stirr up some tube/valve
discussion as well. I picked my Racal up from a guy in New Hampshire who
has 15 of them as well as a warehouse full of all kinds of boatanchors,
thought I might go into cardiac arrest when I saw the stuff!!! Yeah, this
radio is a totally different experience, no bandswitch to clean and to see
the calibrations whizzing by on the film is something else indeed!!I was
surprised at how accurate the calibration is considering this must have been
sitting for a few years since last maintenance. I'd like to pick up the
matching transmitter (exciter really) and get on the air with it. Thanks
again, Ross
