First, it is not permissable to post links to the electronic auction on this
list. This was your warning, you won't get a second one.
Ron, nobody really wants to tell you if this particular item is, or is not,
good,as none of us have any way of truly knowing. Yes, we might know that a
given set is 'good', based on its historical performance and manufacturer
quality and so forth. But what has happened to the set in question over the
years we have absolutely no way of knowing. To say it is, or is not, what you
want, would be putting ourselves out on a very weak limb and then sawing it off
behind us.
I would strongly, and I do mean STRONGLY, suggest that you contact the seller
and ask he/she some specific questions about the set in question. Pin the seller
right down, don't be shy. If you buy it, you own it, you can't get satisfaction
over state lines for product misrepresentation. At least not in an affordable
legal sense.
Ask some questions you know the answers to. This way you know if the other
person is telling the truth or knows what he/she is talking about. Remember,
there are a lot of sellers out there who have no clue what it is they are
selling! Belonged to a deceased friend or relative, looked neat and bought it at
a yard sale and so forth. Even if the seller is a licensed Ham, does not mean
that he/she knows anything about the equipment. Most current Hams, the last
twenty years, know very little about older tube type equipment. Most never used
or owned it.
Most importantly. do NOT be in a big rush to buy. Take your time, look around
and find the right item for your needs and likes. You have expectations Ron,
getting anything less is going to be a disappointment, no matter how good of
condition it is in or how well it works.
I would suggest: if you have no current tx, then listen to the HCI 20 and/or 40
meter radio Nets. If you do have a tx, then join us. There you can talk live to
the seller and tap the collective wisdom of all who happen to be present.
Post your want in the HCI web site 'forsale-swap' area. There is no charge for
this. It is read by many people, Hallicrafters devotees, as well as Heathkit,
Collins, Hammarlund, Drake, Swan and so forth.

Hello
Im new to boatanchors and I have never owned a transmitter/receiver before.
I am wanting to buy a complete station without breaking the bank, and I want
a working good cw station. Can you please look at this item on ebay and let
me the value of this package? I have no idea what it is worth, or if it is
what I need. I just thought I would see if anyone could help.
Thanks
Ronnie
