Hi,

It has been awhile since I have played with these things, but the CV-89 is
just what it says. It takes an audio signal from a receiver and uses it to
key the loop of the RTTY machine. The CV-57, if my memory serves me, was a
converter/comparator. It was useable as a converter alone or to compare the
signal from a pair of CV-89s giving the output to the loop from the best
signal. It was like a voting receiver or a diversity receiver in purpose.
Like I said, I am not positive about the 57, but I am about the CV-89. The
89 was state of the art in the RATT days. That and a Model 28 cas considered
the "Collins" or RTTY setups.

73 and Happy New Year.

John, W4AWM
