<<Not as long as you use a Low Pass Filter and have a decent ground >>

Hi Ed,

You are definately correct about that. My experience is nearly 50 years old,
but true. I was running a Viking II barefoot with a Johnson LP filter. With
a standard coax relay, I had minimal TVI. I wanted to operate break in CW so
I bought a Dow Key electronic relay. I had the worst case of TVI ever, all
over the neighborhood. I was about to write Dow and complain, but my high
school buddy, an insanely jealous sort who had to keep up with the Joneses,
rushed out and bought one, too, and proceeded to have the same problem. When
I went back to a real relay, my problem disappeared and so did his when he
changed back. We both had excellent grounds on the gear. I still have that
switch around here somewhere.

73,

John, W4AWM
