>From Joe W5JDY in Okla. First I would like to appologize for asking so =
many questions but, I think I have bought a pig in a poke Hallicrafters =
SR-150 transceiver.
My question concerns modifications this radio has. There is 3 or 4 tubes =
in the set that are different no's than the manual and they are not =
substitutes but different tubes=20
with different base connections. These tubes have the original no's on =
the chassis covered up with a piece of tape with the new no on it.The =
wiring doesn't look as if anyone has changed any wiring which leads me =
to think this was some production
changes done by hallicrafters? Does anyone have any clues. Example =
Tube no
V11 originally 6T8A marked on the chassis and in the manual has a =
6AZ8(maybe not the right tube either)in its place. The wiring under the =
chassis is different than the manual but does not look as if it has been =
changed since the radio was new. I am sure this is hard to understand =
so I will quit right here. Any manuals with production changes might be =
useful.
THANKS for you time Joe w5jdy
