I've been gathering up 3B28s and 4B32s as replacements for the 866 and 872,
respectively. Trying to recall the make up now(Xenon?) they use, but
everyone I've spoken with says they are safer/better bet than the merc vapor
tubes. They glow as well, but a different color...

Anyone out there with more information than me on this(wouldn't be
difficult)? I've got a big transmitter that tosses 15A fuses on one side of
the line when I try to energize the plate voltage, so I'm planning to
replace the 872Bs with 4B32s and go from there. Firsthand experiences are
always best, though.
