Ray,
There are some older units that do not recharge the Lithium battery. They do
expire and must be replaced. It is primarily used to store data in memory. It is
doubtful this is the problem here.

The ft 757gx has a lithium battery in it. would this battery be used in the
tuning/frequency control/memory functions? If so, would it cause the problem
by going weak???
