[Boatanchors] Ranger 40 meter only grid drive problem query

I thought I'd avail myself of the collective wisdom of the group before 
wrestling the Ranger on the bench. Here'e the problem. I have low (1ma) 
grid drive on 40 meters. The rig appears to be working fine with only 
1ma drive. Makes no difference what part of the band I'm in or load 
conditions. R13(drive control) is maxed out and the buffer tuning only 
gets me 1ma. This condx has been developing for awhile with the usual 
grid current being around 2 ma. Now the weird part:the grid drive on all 
other bands is normal! Fully adjustable with R13 and buffer peaking. I 
have begun to look at the schematic and see no (obvious) 40 meter only 
adjustments-other than VFO range caps.

I am guessing (really guessing!??) a dirty bandswitch contact. Has 
anyone run into a 'one band' drive problem with a ranger before? Any 
help before I attempt surgery will be appreciated.
