There is an excellent discussion on 2el yagis in Lawson "yagi antenna
design" ARRL
They are interesting beasts.
I would suggest using antenna modelling software eg Yagi Optimiser, ELNEC
etc
or drop one element from the three element designs given in late ARRL
Handbooks and Antenna books.
While 2 el designs are not very critical, note that the yagis in the older
texts are often less than optimal.
A famous (SK) antenna guru's book on Yagis has most of the antennas
performing best outside the band...
