[Boatanchors] Rectifier tube for the HQ-170

Hello from Vienna !

I need some help !
Can I use a 5Y3G rectifier tube instead the 5U4GB thats used (I hope I'm
right) in my HQ-170 ?
My 5U4GB has "lost" the plastic insert (in the middle of the ocatl tube) and
so it has only the 8 pins. Once I made a failure (without knowing it) as I
put out the 5U4GB from the socket and did'nt note the correct insert.
Unlucky as I was I set it in wrong and in some seconds the power supply
transforem run hot and began to "smoke" a bit. I disconnected the receiver
immediatly and so I hope there is no damage. The tube and the receiver is
working after inserting the tube correct.

But I have no spare 5U4GB, only a 5Y3G which has the same pin connections.
But as I know the 5Y3G can only work with I=125 mA; the 5U4GB works max.
I=275 mA (Am I correct ??). So I think (but don't hope, hi) that this is not
a correct tube for the HQ-170. But where to get a spare one here ??

Another question: how can I check if I have damaged the power supply
transformer while inserting the rectifier tube wrong ? I had it running
after cooling down for 10 minutes but want to aks first before I use the
HQ-170 for a longer time to prevent more damage.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Perhaps someone of you has 2 spare 5U4GB for me ? Would be fine, but is
shipment save ?
I live in Vienna - Austria. And whats a correct price for a new one or a
good used 5U4GB ?
