Ray,
Just think how much free space each of us would have if we got rid of the old
clothes, books, unused items and so forth that we have populating our shelves,
closets, attics, basements, garages, sheds and so forth. Rather than donate it
to a landfill, sell it on the Bay of E - I have thrown away several fortunes in
what I thought was junk, but then I never thought about the nostalgia craze of
baby boomers trying to relive their former lives. Yes, I am the very first of
those baby boomers, so I am guilty too.

I expect serious collectors might have an interest in them, but from my
perspective, I have too much "stuff" cluttering up my shack as it is and
I'm not enough of a collector to go after anything but good usable
hardware. As you suggest, an old logbook might make a good picture or
decoration, but for most of us it would probably end up in a file
cabinet and not displayed anyway, due to lack of space. If I had one,
I'd probably keep it, but I wouldn't bother buying one just for the sake
of having it. Same with sales brochures, at one time I collected a few,
then realized they were doing me no good in the file cabinet so I sold
them. In fact I probably still have a few original Hallicrafters
brochures from the '60s around but they sure aren't doing me any good.
It would be the same with a logbook, interesting to see for a short
while, then into storage never to be used again.
