[BARC-List] VE Sessions for Pre-Hams and Hams

     Good news for your Pre-Ham friends. The montly BARC VE sessions
for all ham licenses will start again  on Monday, September 11, and
then on October 2 (because of Columbus Day holiday)

Ham Radio Examinations  
  
    The Boston Amateur Radio Club offers Ham Radio Examinations (VE
Sessions) at 7:00 PM on the SECOND Monday of each month (except on
Monday, October 2) at the Pierce School, 50 School Street, Brookline,
Room 110 next to the cafeteria.

  If the Brookline public schools (or the Pierce School itself) are
closed due to inclement weather or orther problems, the exam session
for that month will be cancelled. Otherwise the exams will be held on
the second Monday of each month.

No pre-registration is required. All exams, Technician through Extra,
written, and morse code are given. 

Talk in on 145.230 MHz (-) PL = 88.5   The BARC VHF Repeater

  There is a free parking garage at the circular driveway. Enter
School Street from the Washington Street side (opposite 394
Washington) rather than from Harvard Street.

  Public Transportation: Take the"D" branch of the Green Line to the
Brookline Village station. Walknorth on Harvard Street 0.2 miles to
School Street then turn left. The Pierce School is on the left. The
No. 66 bus runs on Harvard Street,crossing School Street.

Please bring the following with you:

** Your current license and a photocopy for the ARRL, if you are
upgrading

** Any CSCEs you are claiming and a photocopy of them

** Valid ID (Picture ID preferred)

** A pen and a calculator (if you want to)

** $12.00 (good for all the tests you take at that session, except
for retests).

**Note that code tests are no longer free. Those taking the code test
only will also have to pay the $12 fee. Code and written tests can be
taken together at the same session for a single $12 fee.

** Applicants failing an exam element at ARRL sessions where
examiners permit retesting on the same exam element also must submit
a retest fee of $12. 
 
The needed FCC forms will be provided.
