As the puddles freeze and we approach the middle of the winter
season, my travel interests turn to the North where the snow is
deep and fleet-footed paddlers leap with their canoes from
ice-floe to ice-floe.

Do fellow BARCois have experience with operating in Canada,
bringing an HT and supporting gear through border crossings and back,
whether the multitudinous clubs of Quebec are competitive or
cooperative, whether language is a hot-button or some
repeaters are staunchly English or Francais? Quebec seems to have
many repeaters but not a comprehensive listing.

It appears from looking at ARRL and RAC websites that licensing
and operating are covered by reciprical agreements, but what
of practical aspects, such as how in US_CALLSIGN/VE2 one
pronounces the "/" in French, other radio jargon that may be
unique Canadianismes, etc.
Experiences? Suggestions?
"Repondez en-direct" or via the List.

"It is a cliche in our business that the first 90 percent of the work is
easy, the second 90 percent wears you down, and the last 90 percent --
the attention to detail -- makes a good product." --Ron Avitzur, 2004
