The reduction in electrical noise may also have been due to the fact that
radios actually were grounded directly to a ground rod right behind the
table at the operating positions. This also seemed to eliminate
interference between the two HF radios.  I hope to have ground straps for
all radios that seem to need or want them next year.  Grounding the
radios is obviously a good idea from a safety standpoint, anyway.  
While I don't believe that our power supply generates much hash, the two
large marine type batteries certainly didn't hurt as filter caps as well
as powering the radios during generator down for refueling.
