Sad news indeed.

In late 1991 I moved to Enid for a job and wound up moving in just two
houses away from John.  Our first meeting was entertaining one Sunday
morning in 1992 as I'd been on 75m and he was trying to figure out who
was tearing up the band.  I still chuckle when I think about it.  We
became close friends over the years in and out of the Enid Amateur
Radio Club.  We even tried to form an Explorer Scout post but it just
sort of faded away.

We were able to make a QSO on 20m just before this Christmas past.  It
was good to chat again.  R.I.P. and good DX, John.
